August-Our Alaskan Cruise

(Beware: many, many pictures of our cruise!)
We have had a wonderful summer! We were able to see both of our families and have some fun trips! Our biggest trip of the summer was an Alaskan cruise with all the adults of the Johnson family. There are 8 kids in Tim's family so we had quite a big group on this cruise! I think 15 of us! The best part was being on a trip with my husband without the kids!! My sweet sister ky and my dad watched them for the first few days, than my amazing friend Sarah watched them most of the week, and my mom finshed the week! I'm so thankful to all my babysitters!! I had a great time just being with my wonderful hubby! Although, I have to admit, I did cry a bit at the beginning for my kiddos! But it all worked out and I had a great vacation. Thank you so much mom and dad!

We started the trip in Seattle. Here we are at the big market place. It was huge with many different things for sale! We saw the "famous" fish throwing guys. It was pretty cool.
Yum, yum, food!

Ah, yes, the space needle. The boys had too much fun taking picture here!

Danny, Tim, Georgie, & Dave

Here we are standing in front of a very cool wall...it's lots of colors.

There is our cruise ship. I was super excited. It was my very first cruise!!

We did it! We actually fit everyone in one elevator!

Our first stop was Skagway! It was our only sunny spot! Amberlee and I went on a "bear adventure" tour and then zip-lines!

Mom, Angie, Rachel, & Jared all geared up for the zip-lines!

We went on two suspension bridges while zip-lining. I'm scared of heights so in the beginning I was a bit scared. After the first two zips, I kinda got over it and then I just enjoyed the view. We were pretty high up!! And the trees were swaying back and forth while we were standing on them...scary!

We are on our cruise ship going through "Tracys Arm." There was a beautiful glacier and a few whales about! Pretty cool.

You can barely see the glacier behind me between the mountains. It was so pretty, but cold!

Tracys Arm

There's the glacier!

Our Second stop was Juneau! Amberlee and I went on a walking rainforest/glacier tour
followed by whale watching! We saw 4 black bears on this tour. Here is the first one! I didn't get a picture of the other 3 because our tour guide made us walk away quickly. A mother bear and 2 cubs walked right by us...we could have touched them. It was amazing.

There is Glendenhall glacier. Pretty big. By the way, Am and I went on these first two tours together because our hubbies went fly-fishing! Tim would have fished the whole time if he could have!

Glendenhall Glacier

Amberlee and I are pointing to the black bear sign because we just "ran" away from the momma bear and 2 cubs. So sad I didn't get a picture. The cubs were super cute!

Onto the whale watching part of the tour. I guess Juneau gets a lot of humpback whales during the summer. They say, Alaska is their kitchen and Hawaii is their bedroom;)

Oh, wow, one is flying over our head!?

He's going down, down!

Our tour guide said that they don't travel in pods, but there were quite a few right by eachother...guess they all found where the food was!

Third stop: Skagway! We went on a bicycle tour of the rainforest. Before this trip I did not know that Alaska had rainforests!

And, guess what!? We saw a brown bear! I loved how much wild life I was able to see.

Angie, Michelle, Steve, Georgie, Tim, and Danny

Alaska is so pretty! It sure rains a lot!

Heading back to the ship for a quick lunch before our helicopter ride!!

All decked-out for our very first helicopter ride! I was sooooo excited!

We flew over beautiful ocean, mountains and then landed on the glacier! Tim's standing over a crack in glacier with super-duper cold water running down.

A view of the super long hall!
Our last stop was Victoria, BC, which was very beautiful. I don't have any pics b/c my camera died:( But, hopefully my other family members will email me some!
Oh, and we had a few family members join the karoke sing-off! It was so fun to watch them. Dave made it to the finals. Here he is perfoming!

Silly Dave...All the finalist came out and performed together! I had such a fun trip and I ate so much food. I loved having food whenever I wanted! I didn't have to cook or clean any plates! It was da best!

July at a glance

July was a great month! Heres what we did...

On a bad note, TJ got his first ear infection. They put him on Penicillin, which he was not allergic to!! (my mom, me, and Bailey are) Yeah!

Cute TJ sitting up!

OH, look! They match. That's soooo sweet!

Bailey: 2yrs, 9mos TJ: 6mos

All ready for church!

Bailey doing one of her most favortie activities: dress-up!

Bailey is showing us how eating healthy food, like broccoli, makes us strong! :)

More dress-up!

Bailey took two weeks of swim lessons and loved it! She was in the Dolphin class...swimming without mommy! What a big girl.
She's already for her first day.
So excited

Fun, fun games!

Bailey was in an Art class this month! We did "mommy and me art" at the Provo Rec Center. She did really well for being the youngest in the class. She liked every project except one!
Painting her "pinch-pot" piggie, green, of course (her favorite color).

Showing off her decorated pot.

Ready to roll out some clay!

We spent some time in Colorado this July, as is our tradition! The fireworks were great and this year Tim and his mom did an art show!
Ready for fire works!
The Kiddos at Dad and Grandma's Tent!

Here is Tim with all his water colors behind him! He sold quite a bit, I'm so proud of him!
He's pretty talented, huh!!

OH, so cute!
